Dear Former/Current Fellows: I am writing to inform you of the
latest information with regard to our recent FIEL planning meeting.
The planning committee met in October at
Lemont High School and the group has been busy contacting speakers and
working on various aspects of the program.
Plans for the summer are going well with our
group meeting at St. Norbert College, in DePere Wisconsin from
July 12-17, 2009.
The theme for the Conference will be
“Leading in
a Flat World”.
Our first keynote speaker will be
Mr. Jason Ryan Dorsey.
Mr.
Dorsey is a bestselling author, acclaimed speaker,
and award-winning entrepreneur. Often referred to as the "Gen Y Guy,"
Jason has been featured as a Generation Y expert on 60 Minutes, 20/20,
NBC's Today Show, ABC's The View, NPR's On Point, and in The Wall Street
Journal and Fortune Magazine.

Psychology with interests in Internet-based learning environments,

social, cultural and psychological interactions between technology and
education. He has developed and managed numerous network-based learning
environments and educational Web sites. His current research projects
include a social constructivist analysis of technology adoption in
schools, designing an Internet-based multimedia literacy environment,
and examining the cognitive and affective effects of computer-mediated
learning communities.
http://zhao.educ.msu.edu In addition to the tremendous speakers, we will have
additional presentations by our FIEL, a legal update, and returning by
popular demand Real-Life scenarios.
We anticipate this week being extremely focused on our theme of
“Leading in a Flat World”, while continuing to offer opportunity for
personal wellness and networking time for all fellows. In an effort to continue to offer this tremendous
opportunity for a bargain price, we ask that you return your
registration form by June 1, 2009, to secure a rate of $725.00, which is
the same as last year. To
assist with logistics of dorm rooms and other organizational issues,
please return your registration form as soon as possible.
Failure to register prior to June 1, 2009 will result in an
increased price of $750.00 for the week. The next meeting date for the organizing
committee will be Friday, February 6, 2009.
All fellows are invited to attend.
This meeting will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Lemont High School.
Please contact Dr. Sandy Doebert (sandy@mail.lemont.k12.il.us)
to RSVP so appropriate arrangements can be made for the meeting space
and other logistics. Arthur DiBenedetto, Mark Thurwanger,
