FIEL Conference 2011
Dates: July 12 - 17, 2011
Registration:
Registration will be held at Michel's Hall (New Residence Hall) between 1:00pm
and 4:00pm on Sunday, July 12, 2011. New Fellows will have a brief orientation at
4:30pm
Accommodations:
Fellows will be housed in Michel's Hall. This is a college dorm. In this
building, four rooms are grouped together in a suite, all sharing a community
bathroom. Room assignments and keys will be given at registration. Linens,
towels, wash cloths, and soap will be provided. Fresh towels will be provided on
Wednesday. Some recommendations for packing are as follows:
Alarm clock
Shower shoes/flip flops
Large towel - dorm towels are "economical" in size
Laundry soap - if you plan to do laundry
Quarters - again, if you plan to do laundry
A large bar of soap - soap is provided, but it's hotel-size, shampoo, conditioner and lotions are NOT provided
Sweatshirt - the conference room is air-conditioned and there is always at least one unusually cold morning
Sheets/pillowcase - the twin bed sheets are rather rough!
Mattress pad
Umbrella - for the walk to the conference room
Hangers
Dress:
Informal attire is appropriate for the entire week. All rooms are air
conditioned.
Food Service:
Meals will be served in the Student Commons beginning with dinner on Sunday,
July 11 and ending with breakfast on Friday, July 16. Thursday night's dinner
will be a Dinner Cruise provided by FIEL. Lunch and dinner on Wednesday are "on
your own."
Miscellaneous:
There is time between sessions, evenings, as well as Wednesday, for some
recreation. In the past, groups have gotten together for various activities. If
you'd like to join the groups, you may need to bring additional items. Some
activities have included:
Tennis
Biking
Walking
Running
Basketball
Volleyball
Pontoon Boating (Wednesday, there is an additional charge of approx. $20)

Between the afternoon session and dinner, fellows can gather at the dorm for additional professional conversations as well as socializing. The social committee plans "themes" for each evening. Refreshments and snacks center around these themes - theme attire is optional!
